CF Olympic nominee
26 July 2011
Camilla Al Fayed has been nominated to carry the Olympic
Kirsty was first introduced to Camilla by Mohamed Al Fayed - who
has helped Kirsty raise funds and awareness for Francis House, the
children's hospice she attends, for over 12 years - and have struck
up a real friendship.
Kirsty is the only person in the world
to have been born with a back-to-front heart. All her other organs
are displaced because of her condition, and abnormal blood vessels
have developed in her lungs severely restricting her day-to-day
living. Kirsty regularly visit Francis House, a children's hospice in
Manchester; it offers her a safe and fun change of scene and
provides her parents a break from the round-the-clock care they
give her each day.
Kirsty has campaigns for Francis House each year to help raise its
annual running costs of £3 million. Mohamed and Camilla have played
a big part in helping Kirsty secure funds and raise awareness so
that the hospice can continue to reach even more terminally ill
children and their families.
