Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Every year, over 225,000 sick children from across the UK are treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Many face incredibly difficult circumstances and their courage, determination and hope are truly inspirational.

Mohamed Al Fayed’s got the ACF involved in 2009 when he donated a significant sum of money to the hospital enabling them to purchase two Haemofiltration machines for their new Renal Unit. The new unit has enabled a dedicated team to offer a comprehensive service to its renal patients. They are very proud of this advance in their services and very grateful to Mohamed for his generous support.

The NHS gives the hospital funds to help maintain the day to day running of the hospital and pay for the expert nursing staff there, yet it still needs to raise a further £3 million every year to help it create modern and child-friendly environments, purchase state of the art medical equipment and fund research into the prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses.
